Common name: puff ball.
Headache (deep in the brain), with a feeling as though the head were enormously large or swollen (F.).
Discharge from the nose and all mucous membranes very tough, stringy and tenacious (Kali-B.) (A.).
Pale swelling of the upper lip.
Found it useful in epistaxis. Whether the hæmorrhage be associated with menstrual irregularity, or whether it arises from traumatism, Bovista may be the remedy (F.).
Bleeding of the nose early in the morning (during Sleep).
Bad effects of inhalation of charcoal vapours (Arn., Op.) (F.).
Ebullitions, with much thirst (Acon., Bell., Ferr-P., Sulph.).
Colic: the patient finds relief from bending double after eating (F.).
Intolerance of tight clothing around the waist (Calc., Carb-V., Lach., Lyc., Nux-V., Sulph.) (A.).
Sweat in axilla, smells like onions (Petr.) (A.).
Bleeding of the gums when sucking them (Amm-C., Carb-V., Kali-B., Nit Ac., Rat., Zinc.).
Great weakness in the joints (Calc., Caust., Kali-C., Nat-M.).
Hæmorrhage: after extraction of teeth (Arn., Ham., Kreos., Mill., Trill.) (A.).
Hæmorrhages from relaxation of the capillary system; epistaxis or menstrual hæmorrhages, where the blood flows with very little exertion; the flow occurs more at night or in the morning (D.).
Diarrhœa: the stools are followed by tenesmus and burning (Sulph.) (F.).
Ineffectual urging to stool (Nux-V.). Diarrhœa before and during menses (Amm-C.) (A.).
Red urine (Bell., Lyc., Sars.) (F.).
Frequent desire to urinate, even immediately after urination.
Chilliness predominating during the pain (Ars, Caust., Puls., Sep.).

Thick slimy, tenacious, acrid or corrosive leucorrhœa (Kreos., Nat-M., Sep.). Voluptuous sensation in the female genitalia (Br.).
It produces an eruption much resembling herpes, which bleeds readily (F.).
MOIST TETTER (Graph., Nat-M., Rhus-T.). Urticaria, when attended with diarrhœa (F.).
Eruptions in the corners of the mouth. Eczema in back of the hand (Graph., Merc., Sil.) (Br.).
ITCHING COCCYX (Agar., Alum., Bar C., Bor., Con., Fluor-Ac., Graph., Lyc., Petr., Spig.) (B.).
ITCHING ERUPTIONS: OOZING; FORMING THICK CRUSTS OR SCABS, WITH PUS BENEATH (Mezer.) (B.).
Intolerable itching at tip of coccyx; must scratch till parts become raw and sore (A.).
Acne on the face, worse in summer; due to use of cosmetics (Br.).
The symptoms of asphyxia caused by this remedy are very much like those produced by the fumes of charcoal (Arn.) (F.).
Sleepiness after dinner, and early in the morning (Nux-V.).
The heart feels enormously large, with oppression of the chest and palpitation (F.).
Palpitation after a meal (Abies-C., Calc., Lyc., Puls.) and also during menstruation (F.).
Great weariness of hands and feet (Gels., Kali-P., Phos., Plb., Rhus-T.) (A.).
Objects fall from powerless hands (A.).
Tremor of the hands, with palpitation of the heart and oppressive anxiety.
Objects seem to be too near the eye (Phys., Rhus-T. Stram.).
Dim eyes, without lustre (Camph., Lyc., Verat.).
Vertigo and feeling of stupidity in the head on rising (C.).
Vertigo; falls over; momentarily unconscious in the morning (C.).
Discharge of fetid pus from the ears (Asaf., Calc., Hep., Merc., Sil., Tell.).
Itching in the ears (Rhus-T., Sulph.).
Sensation as of a lump of ice in the stomach (Colch.; sensation as of a burning ball- Bell.) (G.).
Nausea (in the morning) before breakfast (Alum., Berb., Calc., Lyc., Nit-Ac., Petr., Sep., Tub.) (K.).
Darting pain from perineum to rectum (G.).
Intermittent fever: chill every day from 7 to 10 P.M. (C.).
Chill, after going to bed at night.
Morning sweat, especially on the chest.
Chilliness and heat, with thirst.
Sensation in the wrist-joint, as if sprained.
In the urethra, stinging, itching, burning; the orifice is inflamed, and feels as if glued up (Graph.).
Itching in the rectum, as from worms. Flatulency or rumbling, with constipation.
AGGRAVATION: At night; during morning; before and during menses; after eating; and when blowing the nose.
AMELIORATION: In the day-time; from taking meals; and from bending double.
RELATIONSHIP. Has been used as an antidote to the effects of charcoal fumes (A.).
It also antidotes effects of local applications of tar.
In chronic urticaria use Bovista, when Rhus-T. seemed indicated, but failed to cure.

ANTIDOTE: Camphor.
