Common name: indian cockle.
Within the sphere of action of Cocculus are many spasmodic and paretic affections, notably those affecting one-half of the body (Br.).
Often useful in those who nurse the sick (D.).
Bad effects from anger (Bry., Ign. Nux-V., Staph.) or from Chamomilla (Coff., Nux-V.).
Aversion to the open air (warm and cold). (Nux-V., Psor., Sil.).

SWIMMING AND GIDDINESS WITH NAUSEA (Acon., Bry., Camph., Carb-V., Chin-S., Ferr., Glon., Lob., Nat-M., Petr., Phos., Sep.).
Paroxysms of vertigo as from intoxication, with nausea (Nux-V., Tab.) (N.).
Violent headache: is unable to lie on back of the head; is forced to lie on the side; unable to bear the least light; noise excites nausea and vomiting (N.).
Emptiness and sensation of hollowness in the abdomen (Ign., Sep., Sulph.) (N.).
Intermittent fever with lameness in the small of the back and colic.
Nausea while riding in a boat, cars, carriage, etc. (N.).
Has been of service in a low type of nervous fever, when there is severe occipital headache, vertigo and nausea present (Bl.).

Hard, cold swelling of the glands with stinging pains (Con., Iod., Sil.).

Desire for cold drinks, especially beer (C.).
Tearing and gnawing in the bones (Am-M., Bell., Phos., Ruta, Staph.).

From little exercise he becomes very much fatigued, even to fainting (Ars., Carb-V., Sep., Verat.).
Discharge of bloody mucus from the uterus during pregnancy (N.).
Hard and difficult evacuations (Bry., Nux-V., Op. Plat.) (C.).
Sensation as though worms were moving in the stomach (C.).
Black spots before the eyes (Cycl., Puls., Sep.).

Much paralytic pain in the small of the back, rendering; walking puite difficult and sometimes impossible; cumbing feet and hands (N.).
Should be remembered in diarrhœa, that is produced by riding in cars and automobiles (Bl.).
Headache in the back part of the head and nape, with tendency to stretch the head backwards (D.).
Ill effects of loss of sleep from long continued watching (N.).
The sleep is frequently interrupted by waking and starting (Bell., Hyos., Stram., Sulph.) (Bl.).
Sensation as if the head were opening and shutting (Cann-I., Cimic., Lyc.) (D.).
Thirst without desire to drink (Ang., Merc-C., Mezer., Nat-M., Nux-V.) (K.).

Depleting menses; worse from standing on tip toe; replaced by gushes of leucorrhœa (B.).
WHIRLING VERTIGO ON RISING UP IN BED (Bry., Chel., Ferr., Nat-M., Nux-V., Phos., Phyt., Sep., Sil., Stram., Sulph., Verat-V.) (N.).
Metallic taste in the mouth (Merc., Nat-C., Rhus-T., Seneg.) (K.).
Leucorrhœa: in place of menses, or between the periods (Iod., Xanth.); like the washings of meat (Alum., Kreos., Lyc., Nit-Ac.); like serum, ichorous, bloody; during pregnancy (Kreos., Murx., Puls., Sep.) (A.).
Cannot sit up even one or two hours later than usual in the evening without feeling languid and exhausted throughout the entire day following (F.).
Umbilical hernia, with obstinate constipation (A.).
AGGRAVATION: From loss of sleep; from talking; on riding in a carriage; from smoking tobacco; from laughing; from crying; from walking; from drinking coffee; in the open air; after drinking; on board the ship; on rising from bed; from eating; and from night-watching.
AMELIORATION: In a warm room; when lying quiet.
RELATIONSHIP: Antidotes: Camph., Cham., Cupr., Ign., and Nux-V.
