- Boring, gnawing, tearing pain in the angle of the left lower jaw; thence it extends into the left parietal bone, then into the inner ear, afterwards in the right and then again into the left ear; together with throbbing deep in the bones; at 1 P.M., while sitting, 1.
- Gnawing pain in the middle of the right lower maxilla, which then changes to the teeth corresponding to the same bone, disappearing when biting the teeth together; while sitting in the afternoon, 1.
MOUTH
- Teeth.
- Pain in the teeth, pressive (first day); intermitting (second day), 14.
- Toothache (fifth day), 6 ; (fourteenth day), 15. [170.]
- Toothache, after dinner and supper (ninth day), 15.
- Toothache an hour after eating, lasting for two hours, and especially violent when walking rapidly (tenth day), 15.
- Fine, sudden, transient stitches in the upper incisors, nape of the neck, left ankle-joint (third day), 15.
- Tearing in the lower from incisors, and as she opens the mouth again two violent tearings, in the forenoon (first day), 1.

- Tearing and gnawing now in the right, now in the left lower molars, disappearing after lying down in the evening (third day), 1. [180.]
- Sudden tearing in the right lower hollow back teeth, as though the teeth would be drawn out; the tearing extends into the upper back teeth, the ascending rami of the jaw, the right ear, and the temples, associated with increase of saliva, perspiration of the right half of the head and general perspiration, in the evening in bed; the pains are aggravated by warmth, relieved by motion of the body; cold air seems to relieve for the moment; pulsation in the whole right side of the lower jaw; (took Nux 3, at 10 P.M., after which the pain gradually disappeared), (sixth day); the pains in the right lower back teeth returned the next morning after the dose, were paroxysmal, afterwards increased, were aggravated by drawing in the warm air, and accompanied by accumulation of saliva; in the afternoon the teeth felt as if protruding from their sockets, returning at intervals for the next two days, 15.

THROAT
- Sticking in the left side of the throat while swallowing, in the morning (second day), 1.

- A sense of constriction at the fauces, soon after first administration (in most instances), 24.
- Distressing spasm at the isthmus faucium, when administered in the form of a powder (in some cases), 24.

- External Throat.
- Contractive sensation externally in the forepart of the throat (after one hour), 1.

- Nausea, inclination to vomit, etc., with delicate persons even vomiting; at times the retching is so violent as to prelude the further use of the remedy, whilst in other cases the nausea continues for two or three days, and then gradually subsides; the retching and vomiting differ somewhat from those produced by common emetics, the contractions of the abdominal muscles and of the diaphragm being less violent, and the act not being succeeded by the usual feeling of distress and prostration; the ejecta present no peculiarity, except a blue color, 24.

RECTUM AND ANUS
- Dull sticking in the rectum (twenty-third day), 15.
- Urging to stool, followed by liquid evacuation (after half an hour), 8.
- Great urging to stool, at 6 P.M. (second day), 6.
STOOL
- Diarrhœa.
- It seems to promote the stool in its primary action, 1.
- Slight diarrhœa, which, however, ceases spontaneously when the Indigo begins to be more easily assimilated with the digestive organs, 23.
- Constant diarrhœa, 16.
- After all inclination to vomit has ceased a diarrhœa usually takes its place, increases rather than diminishes as the treatment proceeds, and lasts during the whole time that the Indigo is administered; from four to six stools of a semifluid consistency and a blue-black color are produced daily, with accompaniment of slight gastro-enteric pains, 24.
- At first the patients vomited frequently, without any straining or derangement of the digestive organs; after a few days this ceased, and they had six or eight stools a day, sometimes accompanied by slight colicky pains; after a short time the purging diminished, the matter passed assumed a fluid character, and this state continued as long as the drug was administered, without the appetite or digestive organs being injured, 22.
