Common name: yellow dock.
This remedy is indicated in those of tubercular diathesis, who are extremely sensitive to the open air (Bl.).
Intense itching of the skin when undressing to go to bed (N.).
Itching of various parts, worse by cold, and better by warmth.
It should be remembered in urticaria and prurigo, when there is intense itching of the skin; this is made worse from exposure to cold air (Bl.).
The urine passes involuntarily during coughing (Apis, Bell., Caust., Ferr-P., Kreos., Lyc., Nat-M., Phos., Puls., Squil.) (Bl.)
Early morning diarrhœa from 5 to 10 A.M. (Aloe, Nat-S., Podo., Sulph.) (A.).
The stool is profuse, painless and offensive, and may accompany pulmonary tuberculosis (Bl.).
Brownish diarrhœa, worse in the morning (Nat-S., Sulph.) (N.).
Ravenous appetite (Petr., Sulph.) (B.).
SUDDEN URGING, DRIVING OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING (Sulph.) (A.).
Attacks of sneezing (Ars., Cycl., Sabad.) (B.).
VIOLENT INCESSANT COUGH, WORSE ON INHALING THE LEAST COLD AIR (Hep., Rhus-T.); COVERS THE MOUTH TO KEEP THE COLD AIR OUT, WITH RELIEF (N.).
Night cough in phthisis (Con., Hyos., Phos., Puls. (D.).
Cough caused by tickling in the supra-sternal fossa (D.).
Touching the throat-pit brings on the cough ((G.).
EVERY BREATH OF COLD AIR CAUSES TICKLING AS FROM A FEATHER OR DUST IN THE THROAT-PIT AND CONTINUOUS COUGH (B.).
By covering up all the body and head with the bed-clothes there is no cough (G.).
Cough provoked by change of air, cool or warm, or change in the rhythm of respiration (N.).
Violent, incessant dry cough, fatiguing, with little expectoration, aggravated by pressure, talking, and especially by inhaling cold air (N.).
Cough, worse in the evening, after lying down, especially from lying on the left side (Phos.) (A.).
COUGH WORSE FROM CHANGING AIR OR ROOM (Phos., Spong.) (A.).
Raw sensation in the larynx and trachea when coughing (Caust.) (A.).
Hawks out much tenacious mucus (Kali-B., Kali-C.) (B.).
Hoarseness: Worse evenings and after exposure to cold; voice uncertain (A.).
Complete aphonia (Am-Caust., Arg-N., Carb-V., Caust., Phos.) (Bt.).
Sensation of a lump in the throat (Bell., Ign., Lach.), which descends on swallowing, but returns immediately (Ign.) (A.).
Sense of excoriation behind the sternum (Phos.) (Dn.).
The left chest is more often affected than the right (Phos.) (Dn.).
Every cold affects the joints (Calc-P.) (B.).
AGGRAVATION: From inhaling cold air; in the evening; after lying down; from uncovering; at night; from pressure on trachea; and early in the morning.
AMELIORATION: From warmth; from keeping the mouth covered to exclude cold air; and from wrapping up.
