Mind and Disposition
Great anxiety, with rapid breathing.
Melancholy mood, with great irritability of temper.
Hilarity, with great irritability, changing to anger and wrath.
Head
Dulness and stupefaction of the head, with pressure in the eyes, and obscuration of sight.
The headache always extends to the eyes, is aggravated in the warm room, and relieved in the cold air.
Shuddering on the hairy scalp.
Eyes
The eyes pain as if they were pressed out, as if the eyeballs were being expanded, especially in the evening at candle-light.
Congestion of blood to the eyes, with pulsation in them on stooping.
Swelling of the eyelids, with tingling in them.
Hardened mucus in the morning in the eyelashes.
Lachrymation in the open air, and when looking intensely on an object.
Obscuration of the cornea.
Sensitiveness of the eyes to the light.
Obscuration of sight, with glistening before the eyes, worse from rubbing them.
Ears
Painful sensitiveness of hearing.
Nose
Smell of pus before the nose.
Face
Heat in the face.
Burning blisters on the upper lip, and in the corners of the mouth.
Mouth and Throat
Burning in the throat, mouth and on the tongue.
White-coated tongue.
Inflammation and swelling of the throat and pallet.
Dryness in the throat and accumulation of tough mucus in the throat, which it is difficult to hawk up.
Metallic taste in the mouth, or taste like urine.
Stomach and Abdomen
Violent thirst.
Gnawing hunger, with sensation of emptiness in the stomach.
Eructations (relieving the mucus and hawking of mucus from the thorax).
Nausea, as from the stomach, with vomiturition and straining to vomit.
Burning in the stomach.
Colic, with pressing pain.
Warmth and oppression in the upper part of the abdomen when inhaling.
Gnawing in the upper part of the abdomen.
Stool and Anus
Hard, retarded, and insufficient stool.
Diarrh┼Уa, with vomiting and great anxiety.
Urinary Organs
Urinary secretions diminished.
At night, in bed, involuntary micturition.
Urine contains strings of mucus, foaming when getting cold, turbid and cloudy.
Burning and stinging in the urethra during and after micturition.
Respiratory Organs
Dyspn┼Уa as from stagnation in the lungs.
Oppressed breathing, as if the chest were not wide enough, especially in the open air and when stooping.
Congestion of blood to the chest.
Shortness of breath from accumulation of mucus in the chest and trachea.
Dry, shaking cough from tickling in the larynx, especially in the open air.
Cough with copious expectoration of tough mucus.
Shaking cough, like hooping-cough, from burning and tickling in the larynx, in the morning, with copious expectoration of tough, white mucus (like the white of an egg).
The cough is worse in the evening and at night, during rest, in the warm room, when sitting, when lying on the (left) side.
Pressing pain in the chest, worse during rest.
Great sensitiveness to the inner chest, also to the touch.
Stitches in the chest when coughing and breathing.
Soreness in the chest, aggravated by pressure, coughing and sneezing.
Accumulation of mucus in the chest, in the larynx, and trachea.
Phthisis mucosa: Hydrothorax.
Hoarseness; bronchitis.
The most chest symptoms are aggravated during rest and do not affect the breathing.
Violent palpitation of the heart.
Extremities
Upper. Sensation as if the wrist were sprained.
Lower. Sensation of great weakness or debility in the legs; the joints feel as if lame.
Back
Pain under the right shoulder-blade as if the chest should burst, when coughing or drawing a long breath.
Generalities
Great bodily and mental lassitude.
Great weakness, which seems to originate in the chest.
Diseases of mucous membranes.
Dropsy of internal organs (especially after inflammation).
Inflammation of internal organs.
Sleep
In the evening, as soon as one lies down, heavy sleep; in the morning one wakens frequently from dyspn┼Уa.
Fever
Pulse hard and frequent.
Chilliness and chill almost only in the open air, with weakness in the legs and dyspn┼Уa.
Shudders over the back, with heat in the face and chest symptoms.
Sudden flushes of heat.
Perspiration wanting.
Skin
Bites of poisonous animals or animals when in a state of rage.
Conditions
Especially suitable for plethoric, phlegmatic persons.
Most symptoms, especially those of the chest, are aggravated when at rest and are relieved when walking in the open air.
