Mercurius iodatus flavus

Common name: yellow iodide of mercury.
The Iodide of Mercury acts especially upon the glands and mucous membranes of the throat, after the manner of other Mercuries, though partaking somewhat the action of the Iodine (C.).
Right side of the throat and neck most affected (Lyc.) (A.).
Cervical and parotid glands are enormously swollen (Phyt.) (A.).
Swelling of the parotids and tonsils during scarlatina (Co.).
Deep bone-pains, especially at night (Mezer., Nit-Ac., Phyt.) (Bt.).
SYPHILITIC IRITIS (Aur., Flour-Ac., Merc-C., Nit-Ac., Sil.).
Cornea looks scratched or chipped (B.).
PyorrhÅa (Calc-F., Hep., Kali-P., Merc., Nit-Ac., Sil., Sulph.) (B.).
Superficial ulceration of the cornea and other especially scrofulous affections of the eyes (N.).
Faint or dizzy on rising (Puls.) (B.).
BASE OF THE TONGUE COVERED WITH A THICK, DIRTY YELLOW COAT (Chel., Kali-B., Nat-P.) (N.).
Mammary tumours, with warm perspiration and gastric disturbances (Bl.).
Flat warts (Acet-Ac.) (B.).

DIPHTHERITIC DEPOSITS BEGINNING ON THE RIGHT SIDE, WITH GREAT SWELLING OF THE GLANDS, AND ACCUMULATION OF THICK, TENACIOUS MUCUS IN THE THROAT; THE TONGUE IS COATED YELLOW AT THE BASE, THE TIP AND SIDES BEING RED (D.).
Diphtheritic and throat affections aggravated by warm drinks, and empty swallowing (Lach.) (A.).
Great soreness and stiffness of the neck (Bell., Phyt., Rhus-T.) (Bt.).
Polypus of the nose (Calc.) (Hm.).
Palpitation, with dyspnÅa, aggravated by lying on the back (Ars., Lyc.) (B.).
Follicular tonsillitis (Kali-C.) (R.).
Suppuration of the middle ear (Calc-S., Hep., Merc., Puls., Sil., Tell.) (R.).
Dull frontal headache, with pain in the root of the nose (Kali-B., Nat-Ars., Stict.) (C.).
Troublesome itching over the whole body; worse at night, especially while in bed (C.).
Sensation of a lump in the throat (Ign., Lach., Phyt.) (Br.).
Sometimes useful in chronic nasal catarrh, the posterior nares being most affected (Hydr.) (C.).
AGGRAVATION: At night; from warm drinks; from swallowing; in a warm room; during rest; and from lying on the back.
AMELIORATION: In the open air; when exercising actively; from cold drinks; and during the day.
RELATIONSHIP: Similar to: Bad., Bell., Carb-An., Iod., Kali-B., Lach., Lyc., Merc., Merc-B-I., Nit-Ac., Phyt., Sil., Sulph. and Syph.
